RADIATION DETECTION & MONITORING TECHNOLOGIES
RSI’s high-performance solutions in radiation detection technology provide for intelligent Radiation Portal Monitoring Systems at ports and borders, significantly reducing the need for manual or secondary inspections. Additionally, high-performance NaI based mobile, marine, light airborne, all-terrain platforms, and portable instruments generate fast and accurate surveying data, as well as detailed radiation maps.
RSI’s intelligent Radiation Portal Monitoring Systems such as the RS-400 Security Series are fully digital Gamma/Neutron Systems specially designed for security applications such as ports and border crossings. These systems combine high performance with minimum false and nuisance alarms through advanced digital design and spectral analysis on the PVT detectors that highly reduces the need for manual or secondary inspections. These systems operate independently, but have direct Ethernet connectivity that provides a fully integrated design with supervisor overview on all installed systems. RSI’s intelligent Radiation Portal Monitoring Systems incorporate techniques for remote monitoring and data analysis as well as the remote setting of operating parameters. Also included are standard ANSI data formats that permit data to be sent to ‘Reachback’ or to be shared with other agencies.
The RS-700 Mobile System makes the measurement of both the naturally occurring and man made radioactive elements as transparent and automatic an operation as possible. This allows the system to be operated by radiation non-specialists. The NaI based Gamma and Gamma/Neutron mobile, marine, light airborne, all-terrain platforms, and portable instruments generate fast and accurate surveying data as well as detailed radiation maps. Possible threats are quickly identified and can then be intercepted by the appropriate authorities.
The recently introduced covert RS-350 backpack instrument is the latest addition to RSI’s portfolio of high performance Gamma or Gamma/Neutron portable instruments. This instrument incorporates state-of-the-art technology ideally suited for Scanning and Nuclide ID applications for security users.
RSI’s equipment has played a significant role in many large public events over recent years, such as major sporting events that attract large crowds. RSI’s RS-250 Stationary Monitoring Systems as well as the RS-700 Mobile Systems were key to these programs success.
